MEXC and Korea University Launch $30M IgniteX Fund to Develop Global Web3 Talent
IgniteX to Fund Web3 Innovation Over the Next Five Years
MEXC Ventures has unveiled IgniteX, a five-year, $30 million fund dedicated to supporting early-stage projects and developer talent across the Web3 ecosystem. The initiative was announced Thursday and marks a major step in MEXC’s long-term commitment to blockchain innovation.
The program will begin with a launchpad accelerator, offering support to Web3 startups, technical communities, and universities working to scale decentralized technologies.
Korea University Collaboration Aims to Bridge Academia and DeFi
A central component of the fund is MEXC’s strategic alliance with Korea University’s Blockchain Research Institute. Together, the partners aim to provide educational support, research funding, and talent development resources for next-gen blockchain professionals.
Sectors of focus include blockchain infrastructure, AI-driven smart contracts, fintech tools, and new stablecoin use cases—inviting proposals from developers and teams around the world.
Hackathons, Scholarships, and Global Developer Engagement
IgniteX will host a series of worldwide hackathons and workshops, aimed at sourcing ideas and supporting top developer talent. Additionally, MEXC will offer scholarships and blockchain courses in partnership with universities to strengthen blockchain education worldwide.
A mentorship program will also be a core feature, giving students and early-stage builders direct access to Web3 veterans and practical development experiences.
Web3 Investment Momentum Builds With DWF Labs’ $250M Fund
The move mirrors a broader trend in the crypto space. Just last month, DWF Labs launched a $250 million Liquid Fund focused on scaling Web3 projects with investments of up to $50 million.
These parallel initiatives point to growing institutional support for decentralized innovation—and signal that the next few years could see a surge in both technical breakthroughs and talent onboarding.
